[23-Dec-09] Letter from Governor Gibbons
Governor Gibbons has written a letter to all state employees requesting
suggestions on how to deal with current budget shortfalls. The
deadline for response is Monday, January 4, 2010.
Last month, the Governor spoke very appreciatively of state employees
and agreed the best money-saving ideas come from the people who actually
do the state's work.
[07-Dec-09] Campus Closed
Today the University announced an emergency closing of campus operations
due to heavy snowfall. Tomorrow, Tuesday December 8, the campus will be
open unless there is a very unusual turn in the weather.
Monday classes will meet on Wednesday at their regular times.
[09-Nov-09] Westfall Scholar Mentor
Ruslana Dalinina was selected as one of only three Westfall Scholars
from the College of Science this semester. Professor Eric Olson was
named by Ruslana Dalinina as her Westfall Scholar Mentor.
Congratulations Eric and Ruslana!
[23-Oct-09] Department Workshop
We will meet in the Basque Studies Conference Room in the Knowledge Center
from 1pm to 5pm.
Enter the Knowledge Center from the north JCSU side. You can enter at
the third floor level and go straight into Basque Studies or enter at the
main floor and go up the stairs or use the elevator at the far north
end of the KC to get to Basque Studies, room 305.

There will be a department workshop September 22 from 2:30 to 4:30
location to be announced.

A reminder and update about tomorrow's departmental workshop.
We will meet in
WRB 2023.
The workshop begins at 1:00 and will finish at 5:00. Ileana will be
distributing an agenda.

We are scheduling an 8 hour session for the Math
and Statistics Department in collaboration with
Creating Effective
Organizations.
The workshop begins at noon at the
Redfield campus.
Dinner will be provided at 5:00.
This will be a catered buffet which includes a vegetarian dish.
We plan to end by 8:00.

submitted on or before January 7.

closely as possible.

The second international conference on
Finite Element Methods in Engineering and Science,
FEMTEC 2009,
will be held at
the Granlibakken conference center at Lake Tahoe on January 5 - 9, 2009.
